Much Looked Forwards To Party on BLU

When The Happy Couple (Chuck and Arcee) invited me to party with them earlier on in the week, I was really looking forwards to it. I've partied them before and its always been fun. Today, however, was an exception, and it wasn't either of their faults.

As tends to happen with crap parties, it was split into 3 good players and 3 bad players. Let me start with the good players.

Arcee: makes a really great RDM. Dispels the mob when needed, keeps me Refreshed 98% of the time, heals when needed.

Charless: good DRG. Nice dmg vs Crabs. Vokes off the mages when needed. Makes good use of jumps and spams PentaThrust as often as possible.

Demajen: Head Butts as much as possible, self-skillchains as much as possible, keeps haste up as much as possible. Did crap damage vs crabs, but more on that in a sec.

So the three of us basically took on the crabs with the aid of three players who ranged from passable to awful.

Average Elvaan DRK: wearing AF boots (there are much better), subbing WAR and voking at the start of every fight, and as often as he could during. This did the mage's MP no favours as he constantly needed healing and drew hate themselves. Was also wearing IM Helmet (+2 VIT for a DD?) and IM Cuisses (AGI+ I believe...). Overall, a bit gimp, but made good use of Abs-TP.

Sub-Par Mithra WHM: No AF, no teleport-mea when we decided that Spiders in the Tree would be better than the really hard crabs we were facing. Slow to respond to almost all situations. And wiped the whole party TWICE through first casting Gravity on a Sand Lizard, and the second time casting flash on a Sand Lizard. The WHM getting everyone killed: oh how I sighed with irony. >.>

F*cking Awful Galka PLD: It is well known that a PLD has to be really good to get my respect. Very few manage it. But very few fail as abysmally as this paladin did.

1) Didn't voke
2) Didn't know how to use Cover
3) Believed that Banish was an acceptable hate-building spell.
4) Begged me to borrow the Astral Ring that was in my bazaar.
5) Was using Meat Jerky as his food of choice.
6) Was wearing the most gimp equip I've ever seen a PLD wear. In fact, lets examine that a little bit closer.

Weapon/Shield/Head were ok.
Body: lv.48 Scale armour. He's level 52. Shouldn't he be wearing Iron Musk.?
Legs: Magic Cuisses? INT+3 MND+3! Is he an Enfeebler now? Is he expecting resists on Flash?
Rings: Phalanx Rings x2 yes ok DEF+20 is ok, but surely some VIT+ would be better.
Boots: the lv.29 Kampf NQ ones. +2AGI oh yes, just what we needed. AF boots are 52 I believe. (And yes, I know I wasn't wearing my AF boots, but they aren't that good anyways)
Earrings: An extra 6 AGI for the fellow. Yes, surely this will make all the difference. Jesus.
Belt: R.K. Belt. I know this has VIT on it, but most PLDs I've seen use Life Belt at this level. I may well be wrong here.

So anyways, I started the party 1900xp into lv.52. I'm now 5000xp into 52 and have died twice, used up 5 pieces of Sole Sushi, and become rather bitter about things. I must admit I don't get bad parties very often, but the three individuals above should really be ashamed of themselves. Chuck, Arcee and myself need to be congratulated for putting up with such shit players for so long.
