Skillup Showdown

Hello loyal readers.

Today me and Dema went out for some skillup fun on my WAR 30. Starting the day at GAxe 19 and Axe 60, we finished with Axe 90 and GAxe 87, which isn't too shabby now is it? Neither capped but both close to it. Good show, good show.

We started off in Quifim Island rocking the world of crabs and worms, then switched the action to Rolanberry Fields. It has nice peaceful music. There are fields - BUT WHERE ARE THE FARMERS? Well the answers is apparently "They've been sucked into some sort of terrible tentacle rape hentai anime" because that's exactly what happened to Saikyo when an Ochu took him roughly from behind and ruthlessly killed him stone dead.

Of course Dema quickly raised Saikyo back up, only for a cheeky Goblin Shaman scamp to rush onto the scene and drop some Stone III science right on Saikyo's ass. The science was too complicated for me; I died again.

So dead twice but back up each time, we ground out the skill. Axe was lovely and fast and easy peasy, but Great Axe was a hideous nightmare. Levelling Great Axe is a bit like watching one of those films where you've been sold on the idea that its going to have some huge action scene at the end, but the rest of the film is incredibly slow and boring, with art house shots of people's ear lobes and toenails just because the director can get away with it. So with GAxe you think "Wow, when this is capped I'm going to really be able to tear some shit up!" but then you think "Hmm, I'm getting a .1 skillup every 38th fight, this is taking an awfully long time".

Eventually me and Dema burned out on GAxe and left it by mutual consent at 87, with the hope I can level it up in XP parties. Hopefully.

On an unrelated note, welcome back to Ryle after a hiatus to the world of WoW.

Finally, would just like to end this blog by offering a hearty {Congratulations!} to Chuck and Arcee after their wedding yesterday. This was the first FFXI wedding I've been to and it was excellent! Unfortunately Dema missed it because Dema was out getting drunk. -.- Now me and Soran need to hurry up and get married so Dema can experience the sights and sounds of a FFXI wedding properly...
