WHM 37 at last!
Long time blog readers will know that one of the things I hate most in FFXI is levelling up subjobs. Add to that is the fact that WHM is perhaps my least favourite job and you can see that there was always going to be an issue with levelling White Mage to 37. In fact when I started playing BRD 'full time' as it were, up until about lvl 16 or so I actually subbed WAR.
From then on WHM was the black sheep of my FFXI existence, always just levelled enough to keep BRD afloat. When I began to fall out of love with BRD in the late 50s, I was more than glad to forget about ever levelling WHM again. A fling with MNK and then SAM followed. But like a moth to a flame, I came back to BRD (in no small part due to the inspiration of Soran) and started taking the job up and into the 60s. This meant a return to WHM.
WHM was already lvl 30, mainly so I could use it on Prommy runs as much as anything else. After much huffing and puffing, and a lot of waiting for invites, I have finally made it to 37. It was a great relief and I am going to take great glee in selling off all the WHM gear. Whoo hoo!
Now this just leaves THF (33) and WAR (30) to level up as subs. I really dont like THF either, so that will be a drag, but on the other hand I haven't played WAR for so long I can't remember whether I like it or not, so that will at least be a change.
In other news, I managed to get a single Ancient Lumber, but haven't yet made it all the way to Rabao to get the damn thing fixed. Do you remember the days when teleports were 500 gil for the basic 3 and 1,000 for the advanced 3? Do you remember the days when there always used to be half a dozen or more WHMs offering teleports in Lower Jeuno? Do you miss those days? I know I certainly do!
Oh well, I can't complain too much. WHM 37! Whoo!

heh yeah... teleports are a pain to find now.
Good Job on whm saik!
Of course, if you levelled WHM to 38 you could cast Teleport-Altep yourself ...
Might kill you in the process mind you!
Either way, grats on finally getting that done.
BTW, THF33+ tends to go quite quickly as at that level, ViperBite is the most damaging ability in the game (and don't let BLM tell you otherwide!)
